Applications

Our stainless steel tubing serves coolant transport and clean-loop connection applications in liquid cooling systems:

Cold Plate Supply and Return Lines

Stainless steel tubing connects the CDU or manifold to server cold plates, providing clean and stable coolant transport for direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems.

CDU Primary and Secondary Loops

Tubing is used in both primary and secondary sides of the CDU to circulate coolant between the heat exchanger, pump, manifold and rack-level connections.

Manifold-to-Rack Coolant Distribution

Tubing carries coolant between rack manifolds and individual equipment, supporting flexible routing in rack-level liquid cooling architectures.

Clean and Sanitary Coolant Loops

ASTM A270 sanitary tubing is selected where internal surface finish and cleanliness directly affect particle generation, pressure loss and cold plate reliability — especially for high-purity and long-life coolant loops.

Quality Control

Each batch of liquid cooling tubing undergoes the following quality control procedures:

Tube Manufacturing

Tube manufacturing may include forming, bright annealing, mechanical polishing, electropolishing and internal cleaning. Clean handling and protective packaging reduce contamination risk.

Surface Treatment

Bright annealing for a smooth oxide-free surface; mechanical polishing for a typical sanitary finish; electropolishing for lower roughness and improved cleanability.

Quality Inspection

Chemical composition and PMI; outside diameter, wall thickness, straightness and ovality inspection; internal surface roughness (Ra) measurement; hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure testing; leakage and non-destructive testing; internal cleanliness inspection.

Available Quality Documentation

EN 10204 3.1 material test certificate; PMI report; internal surface roughness report; dimensional inspection report; pressure and leakage test report; material traceability records; ASTM A270 / ASTM A269 compliance; ISO 9001 certificate; PED and CE documentation; RoHS and REACH declarations.

Customization

We offer comprehensive build-to-print manufacturing services for stainless steel tubing and tube assemblies:

Tube Bending & Forming

CNC tube bending and forming according to customer drawings, including straight, bent and multi-bend tube configurations for liquid cooling piping layouts.

Tube Welding & Assembly

Custom liquid cooling tube assemblies manufactured to customer drawings, including tube bending, welding and connection processing.

Surface Finish Control

Internal surface finish controlled to Ra ≤0.8 μm, with electropolishing options to Ra ≤0.4 μm for clean and long-life coolant loops.

Cleaning & Packaging

Internal cleaning to defined cleanliness requirements, protective sleeving and capped tube ends to prevent dust and contamination before installation.

FAQ

Find answers to common questions about our stainless steel tubing for liquid cooling systems.

What standards do you manufacture stainless steel tubing to?

+

We can manufacture stainless steel tubing to applicable ASTM A270 or ASTM A269 requirements, subject to the product type and project specifications. Available materials and compliance documentation should be confirmed for each order.

What sizes and surface finishes are available?

+

Standard outside diameter range is 6–101.6 mm (1/4″–4″), with wall thickness 0.5–2.0 mm. Internal surface finish is typically controlled to Ra ≤0.8 μm, with electropolishing options down to Ra ≤0.4 μm for high-purity coolant loops.

Why is internal cleanliness important for liquid cooling tubing?

+

Internal surface finish and cleanliness directly affect particle generation, pressure loss and cold plate reliability. This is why ASTM A270 sanitary tubing is preferred over general-purpose instrumentation tubing for clean coolant loops.

Can you manufacture custom liquid cooling tube assemblies?

+

Yes. We provide drawing-based tube assembly manufacturing, including cutting, bending, welding and connection processing where required. Please share your drawings, dimensions, material requirements and connection specifications for evaluation.
